THE PARK OF THE MURBREES
An afternoon at Parc de les Moreres in Benifallet can be a lovely and relaxing experience. Imagine strolling along the riverbank in peace and quiet or sitting on a bench in the middle of a park of mulberry trees that offer a welcoming shade, while the gentle breeze from the Ebro River brings a welcome coolness. Throughout the park, groups of neighbors gather to enjoy a game of pétanque, laughing and sharing stories between shots. The atmosphere is friendly and open, and it is not uncommon for visitors to end up joining the game and making new friends. Beyond the game, the park is a social meeting point where conversations flow freely. You may find yourself sitting on a bench under the shade of a mulberry tree, chatting with one of the neighbors about the history of the town, traditional festivals or simply exchanging anecdotes from daily life. The people of Benifallet are known for their hospitality and it is easy to feel part of the community, even if it is only for a few hours. As the sun begins to set, the park fills with warm colors and nature approaches night. It's the perfect time for a peaceful walk by the river, where the water reflects the last lights of the day. Parc de les Moreres is not just a green space, but a place where the life of the town takes shape and where each visit can be a new story to remember.
Pétanque is a traditional game that combines skill, strategy and socialization. It is perfect to enjoy with friends or family on a sunny afternoon.
HOW TO PLAY?
Pétanque is an outdoor game played by throwing metal balls at a wooden boule, with the aim of getting them as close as possible. It can be played in different formats, from singles to triples, and begins by drawing a circle as a launching point. The game begins with the boule being thrown, followed by the players’ boules, alternating between teams. Points are won by the team with the ball closest to the boule, and the first team to reach 13 points wins. Pétanque is ideal for enjoying nature and company, offering a perfect combination of strategy and fun.
