Neoclassical style church that replaced as a parish the church currently known as Our Lady of Above or Nativity. It is located in the main town square and was built in 1635, but rebuilt after 1939. During the Civil War, the wooden altarpiece that was in the area of the altar and also the parish archive were lost. It is an isolated building, with a single nave, with buttresses and side chapels. The facade has a symmetrical composition, with a central body where the access door to the church is located, with a semicircular arch, very sober decorative elements and the start of two towers. One of the towers did not get up and the other was restored after the Civil War, where the bell tower is located. The roof is made of tiles, on a double slope. Above the entrance there is a rose window and side windows in each of the chapels. It suffered damage during the Civil War that affected the high altar of the Baroque style feast.
In the General Geography of Catalonia published in 1913, Emili Morera recorded the following: "Benifallet counts with a parish church of good architecture, spacious and of cotinti order, dedicated to Sant Bartoméu, the town's major festival" The year 1923 the town of Benifallet participated in a popular collection organized by the priest, Mr. José Vicente, and the mayor at the time, Mr. Colomé, to collect funds for the parish. They collected six hundred and sixty pesetas, which were used to buy a new bell and install it. Thus, on December 16, 1923, the christening ceremony of the new bell took place.
The building was ransacked during the anti-clerical violence resulting from the revolutionary outbreak of July 1936. The altars and religious images were stolen and burned in the square in front or thrown into the Ebro River . Due to the damage caused by the nine months of war, the Directorate General for Devastated Regions of the Franco regime included Benifallet in the list of municipalities that could receive state aid to repair the damaged or destroyed infrastructure and urban fabric. In 1941, a budget of 107,474 pesetas was approved to repair the parish church. Two years later, the budget was increased by 90,862 pesetas. The restoration of the temple was the work with the largest budget of those executed by the entity.

In an archaeological intervention carried out in 2006 on the occasion of works carried out by the Benifallet Town Council, a wooden carving of the Virgin and Child appeared dating from the s. XIII.
A getaway to Benifallet is a unique opportunity to connect with nature and the history of our town. Come and enjoy everything that Terres de l'Ebre has to offer.
