Benifallet is a town where tradition and fun are found in every corner, especially during its major festivals. The Festa Major, which is celebrated at the beginning of September, is the epicenter of the town’s joy. The streets are filled with people, music and laughter. These are days in which everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, participates in traditional activities such as jotas, “cossos” or correbars, demonstrating pride in their culture.
But the party doesn’t end there. Throughout the year, Benifallet celebrates several festivals that keep the community spirit alive. From the Festa de la Primavera or the Clotxa, a day in which lunch, dinner and a final dance session are shared while enjoying typical dishes of the local cuisine, such as recapte or the clotxa, to the Festa dels Quintos/es that is celebrated on Christmas days, although in recent years, unfortunately, we found ourselves when there were neither quintos nor quintas and it could not be celebrated. It’s a problem we share with small towns: the aging of the population and the lack of young people. But we are not here to talk about problems but to party!! And in Benifallet every celebration is an opportunity to meet, share and continue the traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation.
People’s participation is what really brings these festivals to life. Seeing how the neighbors come together to organize, decorate and celebrate is a reminder of the strong bond that unites the people of Benifallet, those who were born there, those who grew up there and those who arrived there.
These festivals are not only a showcase of the town’s rich culture, but also of its hospitality and welcoming spirit. In Benifallet, every party is an open invitation to smile, dance and make memories that will last a lifetime.
