Activities for everyone
Whether you're looking for a peaceful getaway or want to venture into more dynamic activities, the Greenway offers options for all tastes. You can travel it by bike, on foot, or even on horseback, enjoying the nature and cultural heritage that you'll find along the way.
Benifallet, your starting point
From Benifallet Station you can do the Baix Ebre Greenway and the Terra Alta Greenway, both very interesting and very different. The location of Benifallet makes it an ideal starting point for exploring the area, also by bicycle.
Connect with nature
The Via Verda is more than a path; it is an experience that connects people and landscapes. It is a journey that begins at Benifallet station and takes you to places you would never have imagined. Come and let yourself fall in love with the Via Verda del Baix Ebre.
Services
The terrace and restaurant of the Antiga Estació de Benifallet are the ideal setting to enjoy the views of the Vall de Zafán while recovering your energy for the next stage of your journey. From here, you can also rent bicycles or segways, in case you haven't brought your own, including transport from Benifallet to the station itself.
The Greenway is the option
Benifallet, located in the heart of the Baix Ebre section, is a strategic point for travelers on the Via Verda. With a variety of accommodation and restaurant options, Benifallet is the ideal place to plan the start or end of a stage of the route.
It is ideal to do with family or friends, as it is a safe and well-signposted path. It is advisable to bring a light because the route passes through different tunnels.
The Entrance Gate to the Greenway
The Baix Ebre section of the Via Verda extends from Benifallet station to Tortosa.
This section is known for its ease of access, spectacular views of the river and its natural surroundings.
It is ideal for those looking for a simple and relaxing route, perfect for family walks or for cyclists starting out on the Greenway adventure.
A Journey Through History and Nature
The Terra Alta section, on the other hand, offers a journey through time and nature. With a more rugged and elevated landscape, this section of the Greenway passes through old tunnels and bridges, silent witnesses to the region’s railway history.
Visitors can enjoy the tranquility of the olive groves and vineyards, as well as the architectural richness of the villages you will find along the route.
Along this section you will find several options that will allow you to stop to rest, eat, take a bath… Near the Prat de Comte station, for example, you can access Fontcalda, within the Pàndols – Cavalls Protected Natural Area (Terra Alta).
