\n CAMINS DE SIRGA <\/h1>\n <\/span>\n

El sistema m\u00e9s utilitzat per a remuntar el riu \u00e9s el de la sirga<\/b>. El patr\u00f3, situat a la popa, aguanta la corda anomenada s\u00e0gola o sirga que, passant per l'extrem superior del pal, acaba amb el sirgador. \n\nCal molta al\u00e7ada de pal per a salvar els canyars, els arbres de ribera i els altres obstacles que s'interposen entre el cam\u00ed de la sirga i l'embarcaci\u00f3. Cal, a m\u00e9s, una gran longitud de corda per a passar pels nombrosos llocs en els quals el fons del riu obliga a passar per punts molt distants de la riba on \u00e9s tra\u00e7at el cam\u00ed. \u201cQuan la sirga es fa amb homes, cada un rep un nom especial: el de davant, anomenat daliner, s'ajuda amb un bast\u00f3 anomenat dal\u00ed i es protegeix l'espatlla amb unes espatlleres de fusta. En el cas que hi hagi dos sirgadors, el segon s'anomena rerassaguer o zaguero; quan en s\u00f3n m\u00e9s, el tercer s'anomena nus d'ase i no s'ha registrat mai m\u00e9s de quatre sirgadors. Quan es fa servir un mul, aquest necessita d'un a dos homes perqu\u00e8 se'n cuidin. \u00c9s una feina dura a causa dels camins dolents i de les canyes o arbusts que poblen les ribes<\/i>\u201d (Carreras Candi, 1993:317).\n\nFrancesc Cost explica en el seu llibre Benifallet entre dos segles<\/u> que \u201cper poder sirgar, una de les coses imprescindibles que hi havia era que necess\u00e0riament, al llarg del riu i al mateix cantell de la riba, s'havia de respectar un caminet pel qual passaven els que feien la sirga, tant si eren persones com si eren animals. Els propietaris de les terres no hi podien posar cap impediment ni obstacle, i els llaguters tenien cura, pel compte que els tenia, de conservar-lo net<\/i>.\u201d \n\nEl viatge riu amunt exigia el remolcament de llaguts. Per tant, com hem explicat, un matxo, i m\u00e9s antigament els sirgadors, estiraven el llagut pel cam\u00ed de sirga. \u201cEl llagut s'aguantava per la g\u00famena, per\u00f2 per fer-lo avan\u00e7ar quan no hi havia prou corrent, perqu\u00e8 ho fes ella sola gr\u00e0cies a la posici\u00f3 del tim\u00f3 hi havia unes barres llargues de fusta amb una puntera de ferro al final perqu\u00e8 no es gastessin: aleshores, els homes de m\u00e9s bona voluntat les agafaven, una davant i una altra al darrere; com que no hi havia cap llei que assenyal\u00e9s qui les havia d'agafar, sempre hi havia algun viu que procurava escapar-se'n<\/i>\u201d (Francesc Cots, Benifallet entre dos segles<\/u>).<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n RECONEIXEMENTS ALS LLAGUTERS <\/h2>\n

El Pont del Llaguter<\/b> \u00e9s una estructura emblem\u00e0tica que va posar fi al pas de barca de Benifallet. La seva construcci\u00f3 va comen\u00e7ar el 10 de maig de 1987, i va ser inaugurat el 23 de febrer de 1991. Aquest pont, amb una longitud de 231m, consta de tres arcs i est\u00e0 elegantment dissenyat en forma corba.\n\nAra b\u00e9, si caminem fins al final d\u2019aquest pont, trobarem el Monument al Llaguter<\/b>. Aquesta obra, pintada per Clari, \u00e9s un homenatge al treball i l\u2019esfor\u00e7 dels darrers navegants de l\u2019Ebre. Representa la mem\u00f2ria d\u2019una \u00e8poca en qu\u00e8 els llaguts trafegaven pel riu transportant mercaderies i persones. \n\nEl Monument al Llaguter \u00e9s un record viu de la import\u00e0ncia hist\u00f2rica d\u2019aquests vaixells en la vida fluvial de la regi\u00f3. <\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
