XVIII, Mari\u00e0 de Gras et Jordana, de M\u00f3ra d'Ebre, \u00e9pous\u00e8rent Ramona de Deona et elles all\u00e8rent vivre \u00e0 Tortosa. Sa fille Teresa \u00e9pouserait Manuel de Grau, originaire de Benassal, et ils seraient les parents de <b>Magdalena de Grau et de Gras<\/b> qui, dans son testament, ont fait don d'une partie de son h\u00e9ritage pour fonder, sur une terre de sa propri\u00e9t\u00e9 qu'il avait \u00e0 Benifallet, un couvent des S\u0153urs Dominicaines Tertiaires de l'Annunciata, \u00e0 Vic, qui prendra le nom de Coll\u00e8ge des Dipl\u00f4mes et Gras et sera inaugur\u00e9 en 1913. Il fonctionna comme <b>\u00e9cole de filles et couvent de religieuses<\/b> jusqu'\u00e0 l'arriv\u00e9e de la guerre civile espagnole, lorsque les religieuses quitt\u00e8rent la municipalit\u00e9 en raison de la situation sociopolitique de l'\u00e9poque. Lors du d\u00e9clenchement r\u00e9volutionnaire de l'\u00e9t\u00e9 1936, le b\u00e2timent fut saccag\u00e9 et des v\u00eatements, matelas, articles de cuisine, objets religieux et meubles furent emport\u00e9s. Les <b>impacts d'artillerie visibles sur les deux fa\u00e7ades<\/b> du b\u00e2timent ont probablement \u00e9t\u00e9 provoqu\u00e9s par l'arm\u00e9e franquiste \u00e0 partir du printemps 1938, lorsque l'\u00c8bre est devenu un front de guerre et que les deux camps ont \u00e9chang\u00e9 des tirs d'artillerie. De plus, <b>Benifallet a subi au moins deux bombardements a\u00e9riens, le 18 mars et le 22 juillet 1938<\/b>. En raison des d\u00e9g\u00e2ts subis pendant les neuf mois de guerre, la Direction g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des r\u00e9gions d\u00e9vast\u00e9es de l'\u00c9tat de Franco a inclus Benifallet dans la liste des municipalit\u00e9s espagnoles. susceptibles de recevoir une aide de l\u2019\u00c9tat pour reconstruire une partie des infrastructures et du tissu urbain touch\u00e9s. Ainsi, en 1940, un poste de 67.372 pesetas fut approuv\u00e9 pour d\u00e9r\u00e9glementation. Il a un plan d'\u00e9tage en forme de U, avec un patio int\u00e9rieur ouvert. Le rez-de-chauss\u00e9e est dot\u00e9 de portiques \u00e0 arcades semi-circulaires, sauf dans la partie avant de la cour, o\u00f9 les arcades sont en corniche, tant dans celles du rez-de-chauss\u00e9e que dans les balustrades du premier \u00e9tage. Le bras le plus long de la construction est occup\u00e9 par l'ancien couvent et l'\u00e9glise, surmont\u00e9s d'une abside polygonale. Les mat\u00e9riaux de construction utilis\u00e9s sont la pierre et les pierres de taille en bois. La surface int\u00e9rieure ou terrasse pr\u00e9sente une d\u00e9coration sobre et lin\u00e9aire avec des sgraffites. Les toitures sont des toitures \u00e0 double pans. En 1976, la Paroisse de Benifallet a enregistr\u00e9 cette propri\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 son nom par le biais de l'article 206 de la Loi de R\u00e9gulation des Finances Locales. En 1989, un accord a \u00e9t\u00e9 sign\u00e9 entre la Mairie de Benifallet et l'\u00c9v\u00each\u00e9 de Tortosa, par lequel ce dernier c\u00e8de l'usage du b\u00e2timent conventuel \u00e0 la Mairie pour 29 ans. Depuis, il est devenu le b\u00e2timent de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence pour le monde culturel et associatif de la commune. Il abritait l\u2019ancien cabinet m\u00e9dical municipal, l\u2019ancienne biblioth\u00e8que Santiago Rusi\u00f1ol, l\u2019ancienne \u00e9cole maternelle, la poste, la maison municipale et abritait le si\u00e8ge de toutes les entit\u00e9s locales. Le b\u00e2timent est devenu propri\u00e9t\u00e9 municipale au premier trimestre 2020, lorsque la mairie de Benifallet a effectu\u00e9 son achat au dioc\u00e8se de Tortosa.   \n\n     \n\n     \n\n
