\n Roman Village of Catxorro <\/h1>\n <\/span>\n

The Mas del Catxorro, near Benifallet, has great historical importance as an ancient production center, possibly linked to wine production during the Roman era. Its strategic location near the river facilitated communications and trade. \n\nUnfortunately there is nothing left to see or anything to visit about this period of history in which Villa del Cachorro was so important in our history; but it is essential to know about our Roman past to understand our identity as a people. The Roman Villa of Catxorro, located in Benifallet, is an archaeological site of great historical relevance. This Roman town provides valuable evidence of the presence and activity of the Romans in the Ribera d'Ebre region. Although it is not open to the public, the archaeological findings of this site help us to better understand the life and customs of the Roman period in the territory. \n\nThe site was interpreted as an important production center, with a strategic location since it is on the banks of a river that facilitated communications. It is possible that this villa made its own amphoras to pack the wine they produced themselves. In 1990, a new archaeological intervention confirmed the industrial character of the town in the sector known as \"La Premsa<\/b>\" \n<\/p>\n\n
