\n MOUNTAIN HILLS OF CARD\u00d3 <\/h1>\n

Located in the heart of the Baix Ebre region, the Serra de Card\u00f3 is a natural paradise that rises majestically around the picturesque town of Benifallet. This mountain range, with its wealth of flora and fauna, offers visitors an unforgettable experience that combines nature, history and culture. <\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n HISTORY <\/h1>\n <\/span>\n

The Serra de Card\u00f3 is not only a place of spectacular natural beauty, but also steeped in a rich and fascinating history. Over the centuries, this mountain range has been a place of pilgrimage and spiritual reflection, particularly known for its ancient spa of Card\u00f3, which from the 16th century attracted visitors in search of its healing waters. The remains of the spa can still be visited today, offering a journey back in time to a past full of mysticism and serenity. \n\nCard\u00f3 and Sallent appear for the first time in 1207, in the donation made by Count Ramon Berenguer IV to populate the area. In this first deed the two names of the barony, Card\u00f3 and Sallent, appear together. It is not known whether it was a single house or several, nor exactly where each of the two places was located. The joint use of these two toponyms will be repeated in the documentation consulted until the end of the s. XVIII From then on, it will be reduced, mainly due to the disappearance of the lordship, and only the name Card\u00f3 will be used. \n\n <\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n GEOLOCATION <\/h2>\n

\n\nThe Serra de Card\u00f3<\/strong>, located in the Baix Ebre<\/strong> region, is a mountain massif that offers a great variety of rock formations, Mediterranean vegetation and panoramic views. This mountain range includes the block of Card\u00f3<\/strong>, which is located to the SE of the term and includes the steep Card\u00f3 valley<\/strong>. This rather narrow valley is drained by the Card\u00f3 ravine<\/strong> and extends to the Costum\u00e0 fence<\/strong>, finally draining into the Ebro north of the town of Benifallet<\/strong>. Within the municipality, there is the old convent and spa of Card\u00f3<\/strong>, as well as several hermitages. The Card\u00f3 massif stands out for the tip of l'Agulla<\/strong> and, towards the west, the Set Serres<\/strong> and the Som pass or tossal<\/strong>. To the east, we find the gates of X\u00e0quera<\/strong> and Cops<\/strong>, through which pass several old roads that cross the massif. \n\n In addition, other peaks such as the Tossal del Caramull<\/strong> (421 m), the Tossa<\/strong> (483 m), the Mola<\/strong> and the Puntals<\/strong> are extensions of the same massif. The area is also rich in karst relief, with several springs and caves, such as the Meravelles Cave<\/strong> and the Marigot Cave<\/strong>, some of which show vestiges of ancient settlements, such as the Aumediella Cave<\/strong> and others. It should be noted that there are numerous tectonic faults in the Serra de Card\u00f3, although not all of them have the same characteristics or magnitudes. This mountain range is a fascinating place for lovers of nature and trails, with great geological and historical diversity. \n\n \n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nThe Card\u00f3-Boix mountain ranges have been included in the Plan of Areas of Natural Interest<\/b> (PEIN) of the Generalitat de Catalunya and, more recently, in the Natura 2000 Network<\/b><\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t
